DDr. Elisabeth Abermann

Specialist in orthopedics and traumatology

Born in Innsbruck, she became fascinated by the field of orthopedics and traumatology during her medical studies and due to her enthusiasm for sports. During her training in Upper Austria and Feldkirch, her interest increasingly focused on the knee joint. Fellowship stays in Toronto and Paris deepened her knowledge in the treatment of pediatric knee injuries and arthroscopic knee surgery. She subsequently completed the orthopedic portion of her training at the renowned Swiss Schulthess Klinik in Switzerland. Most recently, she worked as a specialist at the Tauernklinikum Zell am See/Mittersill until 2020.

Her clinical focus is knee surgery and general sports orthopedics and sports traumatology. Her scientific interests include precise planning and quality control in arthroplasty and additional or repeat injuries, especially in young patients with cruciate ligament trauma. In addition to her work with adult patients, the focus of her work at Gelenkpunkt is consultation specifically for children’s sports injuries.
